While the final phase 1 lots are being planted and the phase 2 lot plan is being finalized, we’re very excited to introduce the latest member to our team. Guillermo Jiménez has joined us as Chief Agricultural Engineer.

Guillermo will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our operation, from production and packaging to the commercialization of the pineapples. He’s not only one of the most experienced pineapple farm managers currently in Panama, but globally.

Over the past 20 years Guillermo has worked for some of the biggest companies in the pineapple industry around the world, including:

• Senior Manager Fresh Fruit Operations at Del Monte Philippines Inc. This included responsibility for production of an MD2 pineapple farm of 6,500 hectares, from land prep, planting and growing to forcing and harvesting.
• Agriculture Superintendent at Fresh Del Monte Produce, Pindeco. Responsibility for all operations at Finca Santa Fe, a pineapple farm which has 1,500 hectares in production and a workforce between 600 and 800 workers, depending on the time of the year.
• Operations Manager Frutas de Exportación Frutex S.A., overseeing the pineapple production of 650 hectares with 500 employees.

Getting Guillermo on board future proofs the success of our project and his experience and contacts gives us a key competitive edge. I’m sure those of you who’ve already had the pleasure to meet him during one of our recent farm tours will attest to that.
