We want to share a quick update from our Colorada Fresh pineapple farm in sunny Panama.

We recently acquired a new spray boom for crop care treatments. This new spray boom features a higher capacity tank and pumps plus longer arms or “booms”. The key benefit is that the longer booms can treat a wider area of plants on a single pass. This means the farm needs less area for roads and has more area for planting, thereby increasing per hectare yields.

In addition to the new spray boom, the farm plans to add 2 additional tractors to the operation. These, along with the new spray boom, will enable the farm to operate at an optimum capacity producing premium fruit for export to markets in Europe. These exports will be primarily through our Caimito Fruits growers’ alliance brand.
