Last week we attended Fruit Attraction in Madrid as part of the official Panamanian delegation. Fruit Attraction is one of the most important fruit & vegetable trade shows in Europe, with over 2,000 exhibitors from more than 140 countries. It offers a meeting point for producers, distributors, and buyers interested in international fruit & vegetable markets.

The Panamanian delegation included exporters from a variety of exotic products such as pineapple, melon, papaya, pumpkin, vacuum-packed yukka, banana, and ginger.

We debuted our pineapple grower’s alliance premium brand, Caimito Fruits, at the Panama exhibit. Our golden sweet MD2 pineapple has high nutritional value and excellent organoleptic properties (taste, color & touch) that differentiate it from other pineapple varieties. Using fruit presentation stands and giving out fruit samples to attendees, we presented our pineapples in the best way possible, generating several new clients for our upcoming harvests.

Albalina de Vallarino, General Director of Export Promotion of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries (Mici), who led the Panamanian delegation, commented that: “For the first time, the ProPanamá Authority, the Mici, and the Embassy of Spain join forces to bring our exporters to this fair, where Panamanian products have had a great acceptance, especially our wonderful pineapple. We thank all the exporters who answered the call and allowed the Panamanian representation to be a success”.

We continue to work closely with the Mici to promote our grower’s alliance brand, Caimito Fruits, as they expand the presence of Panamanian products in upcoming fruit & vegetable fairs such as Fruit Logistica, ProSweets Expo, and Expofruit.
